Peter Cox

Peter Cox is the CEO and founder of UM Labs, a UK R&D company specialising in cybersecurity for real-time application on IP networks. Peter has over 30 years’ experience in cybersecurity including as a co-founder of one of the pioneering firewall companies. At this company, Peter was responsible for gaining the fist ever Common Criteria EAL4 certification for a firewall.

Peter founded UM Labs to research and develop effective cybersecurity defences for voice and video calls on IP networks using the SIP. The resulting technology is now deployed for a national defence force. Supported by Dstl, the technology was extended to secure static and mobile surveillance video. Subsequent development extended the technology to secure extended reality and IoT applications.
