About

The purpose of the CHERI Research Working Group is to unlock synergies in the CHERI research community by providing venues for discovery of mutual interests.
We promote collaboration on the levels of ideas, methodology, tooling, and results.

Ideas
In our meetings, we would like to hear ideas that are being explored or that should be explored. These include both research questions and potential solutions. Both seed ideas and experiences with failed ideas are useful for the formation of new, useful research directions. We expect members to exercise professional propriety with respect to sensitive research directions for their organization, but promote free discussion where and when this is appropriate.

Methodologies
CHERI performance and security evaluation often requires specialised considerations, and shared experience can greatly improve the consistency and significance of our results. The CHERI Research Working Group promotes sharing benchmarks, tools, and analysis techniques to save time and to make results easier to interpret.

Tooling
Beyond general CHERI tooling, CHERI research often requires special tools to prototype implementations either in hardware or in software. We promote the discovery and shared development of tools required for constructing and evaluating CHERI hardware and software prototypes.

Results
Our meetings also provide a venue for sharing research results or publication summaries, and for receiving feedback. Sharing ideas and results is valuable to the community, and feedback can help ensure that authors present the clearest version of their results to the wider community.
