Robert Watson

Professor Robert N. M. Watson is a Professor of Systems, Security, and Architecture at the University of Cambridge’s Department of Computer Science and Technology. His research encompasses computer architecture, compilers, program analysis, operating systems, networking, and security. He leads several cross-layer research projects in these areas.

Professor Watson is a director of the CHERI Alliance, board member of the FreeBSD Foundation and a co-author of The Design and Implementation of the FreeBSD Operating System. He has contributed extensively to the FreeBSD Project and has a strong interest in open-source software.
